Working Remote

Working remote has become the new norm. The days of business is usual have long past and working from home or a remote area are right up my alley. I like a change of space and environment. Here are a couple tips that help me stay focused and productive when working remote.

Communicate

It’s more important than ever to communicate and over communicate with your team, staff and clients. Staying connected and on top of things is super important and goes without saying. Staying in the loop and communicating properly helps work flow and to stay on task.

Change of Place

I work in my bedroom, kitchen, couch, back porch and studio. It keeps things fresh and the fresh air helps clear the brain.

Get Dressed

Its simple thing but I still like to get dressed like I have some place to go. Working in your pj’s can make you feel sluggish and it helps to look presentable for video calls and meetings.

Keep a Routine

I get up on time, take a lunch and finish work at a reasonable time. Keeping a similar schedule helps with burn out and organization. Don’t get me wrong there are times when I work late or start earlier but having a solid schedule will keep you focused and know there is a beginning and ending to the day.

Have an Amazing Playlist

It goes without saying music moves me. I always have a playlist ready to go for whatever mood, project or problem I need to solve.
