Dragon Fruit

Strange, odd and out of this world - dragon fruit - its fascinating to me. Holding this oddity in your hand is an experience all in itself. The soft velvety skin, deep magenta color and scales of a dragon-like outer coat makes this one heck of a interesting piece of fruit. It really does feel like you’re holding something from Pandora. Cutting into the fruit makes me feel like a million tiny monsters are going to be unleashed from their protective shell. In a recent trip to the store, I was lucky enough to get a white one and a rich magenta one. Words can’t describe how rich and vibrant the color is when you cut it open. It’s laughable how saturated the color is. I truly appreciate the wonder in how God made this fruit. It makes me smile. Yes, smile. It’s been a rough few weeks and I am holding on to any little thing that can make me smile and today dragon fruit did that. I fight for joy and appreciate the little things.
