...But then she turned 6

Can't believe how fast a year has gone and now my little girl is 6. Each year I take pictures of the kids for their birthdays and this year was no different. I was inspired by Kinfolk for our shoot and I wanted to do something simple, moody and colorful. Carsyn was totally down. She picked out an outfit, we set up in the sitting room and got to work. I saw this ice cream cone flower thingy online and had to try it. It was fun to build with a fresh waffle cone from Valpo Velvet. 

Once we started shooting it was fun to see her personality come through. Carsyn is a ham but she also takes direction well and can pull of some great looks. 

From miss serious to super silly we had a blast. I only took 30 photos in all and these were some of my favorites. This simple light set up gave me a great look that allowed her to move and round and not have to worry about getting any strange shadows.
