The 5 Minute Portrait
Sunday afternoon we were getting ready to leave the house to go to a barbecue. I pulled out my camera to check the battery and to make sure a card was in it and my daughter screams out, "take my picture". In all honesty, I really didn't want to, we were trying to get out of the house and had a lot of things to do... so I turned my camera towards her and snapped off this first shot.
I told her to hold that pose and I popped open my reflector and laid it against the side of the bed. The window light was perfect but I needed to fill in some of the shadows. After that we were off to the races. I gave her some direction and told her to turn and have fun and in the matter of 5 minutes we had some great shots.
Just remember that great portraits have - great lighting and great facial expressions. This was a super easy set up and I love the results.
